UMBRIA & TUSCANY 2 week

In the morning we will pick you up in Rome Town or Airport or at agreed place or airport and transfer to our villa. If not too tired, we will have a quick lunch and a short tour along the way. After checking in, Welcome Dinner in our villa.

Breakfast: the "Crostata di Marmellata" hand made by Rosetta. Siena: you will see one of the world’s most unique piazzas del Campo and visit the precious Duomo. Cheese tasting. The heart of the Senese countryside is perfect landscape of enchanting hillsides. Dinner in our villa with a coutryside menu of Tuscany and Umbria…

Breakfast: the "Torcolo Umbro", hand-made by Rosetta. Assisi with its amazing ensemble of masterpieces, such as the Basilica of Saint Francis with Giotto’s and Cimabue’s frescos, represents a unique example of city sanctuary. Lunch in a typical trattoria. In the afternoon Spello, a charming town near Assisi. Dinner in our Villa: "Umbricelli al pomodoro", hand-made pasta.

Breakfast: the "Ciaramicola", typical local cake. Gubbio: one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe, perfectly preserved. The Fontana of Mad. Located just before entering the Piazza dei Consoli. Only three times turning around this fountain is acquired honorary citizenship of crazy of Gubbio. Lunch in a typical trattoria and in the afternoon visit of the Sant'Ubaldo Basilica, up on the mount Ingino.. Dinner in our villa: will taste the "minestrone" and “arrosto al forno”

Todi: an eagle appeared. It had two eaglets under its wings… The town preserves its medieval appearance and its ancient handicraft... Lunch in a Country Restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit Orvieto. The most important architectural work in town is the Cathedral (Duomo), built between 1290 and 1320 in Gothic Romanesque style, with a front built with marble and decorated with gold mosaics. Dinner in our villa.

Val d’Orcia: this beautiful area is famous for its little Medieval towns and their production of wine. We will visit Montepulciano with its amazing wineries and after lunch around the lake Trasimeno for a walk in the center of the nice and small village of Castiglione del Lago. Dinner in our villa.

Breakfast: Today we will make shorter excursions. Perugia (only 15 min. from our place) the main town of Umbria and a very ancient town, which rose to power during the time of the Etruscans and one of the more developed towns of Renaissance. Lunch in the area of Trasimeno and after lunch walk in the center of the nice and small villageclose by us Corciano. Dinner in our villa.

After breakfast you can decide if you like to relax in our pool or take an excursion on your own by train (the train station is only 5 minutes walk from our place) to Arezzo, or Perugia, or Assisi, or to the Lake Trasimeno etc.) … (Lunch and Dinner on your own in a local trattoria or pizzeria or restaurant or perhaps only some fruits..).

After breakfast we will drive to San Gimignano: once the seat of a small Etruscan village of the Hellenistic peri od (200-300 BC) it began its life as a town in the 10th century taking its name from the Holy Bishop of Modena, St. Gimignano. Lunch and in the afternoon we will take a walk in Monteriggioni: a military outpost built to defend Siena from attacks by the Florentines in 1213. Dinner in our villa.

After breakfast we will drive to Spoleto: The town of the Two Worlds' Festival. From 1958 its aim has been to create an occasion for Italian, European and American cultures to meet. Lunch in a typical trattoria. In the afternoon, take a walk to Montefalco, the town of Sagrantino, one of the most important Italian red wines. Dinner in our Villa.

Breakfast. Once in Florence you can spend an hour to one of the biggest open market we have in Italy. Then we will take a walk at the Duomo and Giotto's Bell Tower and Piazza della Signoria. Lunch in a typical trattoria and after lunch stroll across the Ponte Vecchio famous for the very fine gold processing of local goldsmiths. Before return we will take a glimpse of the beautiful panorama of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. Dinner in our villa

Breakfast: Shopping in the open market in our village Magione with Rosetta. Learn with Rosetta how to recognize the extra virgin olive oil. Lunch at home with bruschetta and wine. After lunch we will visit Cortona the town of the descendants of Dardanus from Troy, now modern day Greeks… setting of the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”…. Dinner in our Villa… we will taste Italian Pizza and Tiramisù!

Breakfast: the "Torta al cocco", hand-made by Rosetta. In the morning a mystic moment for your soul at the Sanctuary of La Verna on St. Francis' tracks at the top of Appenni Mountains. Here you can see one of the richest collections of glazed ceramic of 1400. Lunch in a typical Tuscan trattoria at Caprese Michelangelo, the Michelangelo’s native village. Farewell Dinner in our villa.

Transfer to Rome Town or airport or to the nearest Train Station to continue your trip. To Rome FCO Airport it takes about 2 and a half hours from our place.
